Sweet corn on July 18 not too dried

The sweet corn at a casual glance looks o.k. but a closer look reveals the effects of the drought, smaller size, quite irregular, browned, curled leaves, and a not so healthy appearance.

We have aboutsix separate plantings of corn; one of them is decorative flint, another is either white or blue flour and a third is popcorn. The rest are sweet corn.

Our new irrigation pond

Our pond just happens to be on the very spot that the work gang was leveling in the last posts photos. It is about 1/2 full and looks suspiciously like a swimming pool, doesn’t it ? Next we need a pump.

Just waiting

This is the pick up area on thursday afternoon almost ready for our sharers to come by and pick up their weeks vegetable share.  There were slicing onions, garlic heads, lots of kale, broccoli, summer squash, cucumbers and a few tomatoes. The shelter keeps sun, wind and rain from the vegetables and shelters us people too.
